History

Back in 1888, our great-great-grandmother founded a livery stable and hauling firm with ten rigs and four horses. From that modest beginning, her vision grew into a specialty hauling firm that set itself apart from the competition. Our grandfather, Henry Reynolds, took over management of the firm in 1929 with his brother William. Together they built Reynolds Transfer & Storage into one of Wisconsin’s largest hauling companies.

Our father Edward and his brother David assumed responsibility for the operation of the company in 1960, and continued to grow and diversify the business lines. The tradition of family ownership and management continues today with us guiding Reynolds Transfer into the next century.

Today, Reynolds is a leader in the hauling of specialty items – heavy machinery moving, crane service, office and residential relocation, record storage, and household goods storage and warehousing. We’ve been serving the businesses, residents, and causes of Madison, Wisconsin and Dane County since 1888.
